Hallway, Stairs & Landing Decorating

Hallways, staircases and landings decorated from the front door to the top landing, including the high walls over the stairs, the banisters and every door, for homes across Watford, Hertfordshire and North West London.

Hallway, stairs & landing decorating

The part of the house everyone sees first

Your hallway is the first thing visitors see, and the stairwell is the hardest part of a house to decorate yourself: high walls, awkward angles and a lot of woodwork. Recent jobs include a hallway, stairs and landing in Pinner, stripped, repapered and painted, with the doors oiled and waxed, a hallway and stairs in Northwood, where five layers of wallpaper came off before the walls were plastered smooth, the staircase and landings of a Bushey home, and a newly plastered home in Nascot Wood, Watford, from the hallway up to the landing. At St Luke’s Church, the tall staircase and high landing were worked safely from a mobile tower.

Required assistance to decorate a new hallway and all of the woodwork within the house. Nelson and Edgar … helped complete the job without fault.

Their attention to detail, speed and quality of decorating is second to none and the entire property was finished with all decorating requirements. Both Nelson & Edgar are highly trained professional decorators who are easy to work with and extra helpful. I would recommend using them for any decorating work to get that crisp finish

Can you reach the high walls over the stairs?

Yes. Stairwells are the hardest part of a house to reach, so we set up safe access for the height before we start. At St Luke’s Church we worked the tall staircase and high landing from a mobile tower.

Do you paint banisters and spindles?

Yes. We paint banisters, spindles, handrails and newel posts, and we can varnish, oil or wax natural wood, as we did on the doors in Pinner.

Can you strip the old wallpaper first?

Yes. In a Northwood hallway five layers came off before the walls were plastered smooth, and in Pinner the hallway, stairs and landing were stripped and repapered.

Do you paint the doors and skirting too?

Yes. Skirting boards, door frames and doors are prepared and painted, or varnished where they’re natural wood. At St Luke’s the doors, frames and skirting boards were sanded right back and re-varnished.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes. Photos or videos can often help us give you an initial estimate. For larger or more detailed jobs, we may arrange a visit before providing the final quote.
