Exterior painting & decorating

Outside paintwork that starts with the preparation

How long exterior paint lasts comes down to what’s underneath it. So before any paint goes on, we deal with the flaking old coats, cracked render and damaged timber, then use durable exterior paints made to stand up to the weather. Recent jobs include the Chorleywood War Memorial Hall, where we painted all the pebble dash, the black front woodwork and the main door, a house in Stanmore finished in brilliant white masonry paint with matt black borders, windows and doors in Croxley Green taken from a tired green to a crisp white, and a weathered front porch in Rickmansworth.

Exceptional work giving our very old property’s exterior woodwork some much needed care and attention. Nelson and Leo were polite, hardworking and trustworthy, putting every effort in to ensure that we were left with a finish we were delighted with. It is always nice to end a project with initial good impressions confirmed. Highly recommended - we will certainly be using this company again.

Exterior painting FAQs

Call 07852 597700WhatsApp Us

When is the best time of year for exterior painting?

Exterior paint needs dry weather and mild temperatures to go on and dry properly, so most outside work is done between spring and early autumn, and we plan around the forecast. You can ask for a quote at any time of year.

Can you paint render and pebble dash?

Yes. We repair cracks in the render first, then use a masonry paint suited to the surface. At the Chorleywood War Memorial Hall we prepared and painted all of the pebble dash, and in Stanmore the rendered walls were finished in Sandtex brilliant white.

Do you paint windows, doors and porches?

Yes. Loose paint is scraped back and damaged timber repaired, then everything is filled, sanded, primed and undercoated before the top coats, as on the windows and doors in Croxley Green and the porch in Rickmansworth.

Which paints do you use outside?

Durable exterior paints, with Johnstone’s as standard or any brand you prefer. Masonry gets a masonry paint, and bare or repaired woodwork is primed and undercoated before the top coats.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes. Photos or videos can often help us give you an initial estimate. For larger or more detailed jobs, we may arrange a visit before providing the final quote.
